Client Approvals

The Approvals tab is where you record formal client sign-offs for project milestones. Having a structured approval record protects you if a client later disputes whether they accepted a deliverable.

Why Record Approvals?

Clients often approve work informally — a quick WhatsApp reply, a verbal "looks good" on a call, or an email sign-off. Omako lets you log these approvals in a structured record so there is always a paper trail, regardless of the channel used.

Recording an Approval

On the Approvals tab, click Record approval.

Milestone Coverage View

The Approvals tab shows a coverage grid — a visual overview of which milestones have at least one recorded approval and which are still pending sign-off. This makes it easy to spot gaps before you generate the final invoice.

Viewing Approval Records

Each approval record shows:

  • The approval method (with an icon)
  • Which milestone it covers
  • The approving contact's name
  • The date of approval
  • Any notes or evidence

Records are listed in chronological order. They cannot be edited or deleted after creation.

Auto-Generated Draft Invoice

When you record an approval for a milestone that has a payment amount set, Omako automatically creates a draft invoice for that milestone in the background.

A green banner appears at the top of the Approvals tab with a link to the new draft. The draft pre-fills:

  • The milestone title as the invoice title
  • The milestone amount as the line item rate
  • Your workspace invoice numbering

The invoice is a draft — it will not be sent to the client until you review and click Send. This gives you the chance to adjust GST settings, add a due date, or edit any details before sending.

INFO

If a milestone has no amount set, the draft invoice is still created with a ₹0 line item. You can edit the amount before sending.

TIP

For large projects, aim to record approval after every milestone is delivered — not just at the end. This way, there is never any ambiguity about what was accepted and when.
