Dispute Summary

When a project has an active dispute — a disagreement between you and a client over scope, delivery, or payment — Omi can read through the message thread and produce a neutral mediation summary.

When to Use It

Use the dispute summary when:

  • You and a client have been going back and forth over a disagreement
  • You want a clear, objective summary of both sides before a difficult conversation
  • You need to document the dispute for reference

How to Generate a Summary

  1. Open the project with the active dispute
  2. Click Summarise dispute with Omi
  3. Omi analyses the project name, delay context, and message history
  4. The summary panel opens with results

What the Summary Contains

Summary

A neutral, plain-language overview of what the dispute is about — who said what, what the sticking points are, and how it evolved.

Freelancer Position

A summary of your position — what you delivered, what you believe is within scope, and any supporting context from the project record.

Client Position

A summary of what the client is asking for or objecting to, based on their messages.

Suggested Resolution

A concrete suggestion for how to resolve the dispute — for example:

  • Agree on a paid change order for the additional revisions
  • Issue a partial refund for the delayed milestone
  • Schedule a call to align on the remaining deliverables

Omi's suggestion is a starting point. You are not obligated to follow it.

Risk Level

LevelMeaning
LowMinor misalignment, likely resolvable with one conversation
MediumReal disagreement, requires negotiation
HighSignificant conflict — consider formal documentation or legal advice

Important Caveats

Omi acts as a neutral summariser, not a legal advisor. For high-stakes disputes involving significant amounts or legal risk, consult a professional.

The summary is only as good as the information available — make sure all relevant messages and context are logged in the project before generating it.
